Touching Tomorrow Today
|
I am blessed to be part of something big in my lifetime. This is eleven-year-old Caleb Fortunes capital campaign affirmation statement, which appeared in the Touching Tomorrow Today brochure. With FPBCs long-term goals in mind, Caleb has envisioned something which is relevant and meaningful to him and the generation he represents. Centuries ago, Moses, in Deuteronomy 4, recognized the value of leaving a legacy and implored the Israelites to teach their children and grandchildren about Gods faithfulness. That way, faith will be passed on from one generation to the next. Keep in mind that because they are young, the new generations do not have a rich experience of Gods power and provision that mature believers do. Therefore, they need flesh and blood examples of kingdom living that will bring forth the best in them. No doubt and hands down, we are called to testify about the love and power of God, both in our words and in our deeds. Let us not underestimate the power of our witness, for it has the potential to shape our young people's lives and help them grow in the realization that the God of generations past is also their God. Testify and pass the baton - for in these, you are touching tomorrow today. - excerpt from Capital Campaign Newsletter, Feb 2007 |
