A Welcome Note
Thank you for visiting our website. It is my hope that as you take the time to check on our various ministries, you will have a glimpse of who we are as a church.
When First Philippine Baptist Church was established in 1988, our primary goal was to evangelize the approximately 80,000 Filipino-Americans who were residing in the greater Houston area at that time. Through the years, these Filipino-Americans have grown in number and we were given more opportunities to minister to them. Immigrants, mostly nurses and teachers, were still coming from the Philippines but many were also relocating from other states and decided to make Houston their home.
Our church is determined to reach these our so-called “kababayans” (fellow countrymen) with the Gospel and we intend to accomplish this by implementing our four major thrusts namely:
- Prayer
- Evangelism
- Discipleship
- Outreach.
These thrusts undergird our vision that “every member of the Filipino-American community will hear the Gospel in order that they will come to a decision to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior; that their lives will be transformed and family relationships strengthened to the end that every Filipino-American child will be God-fearing and every home God-honoring.”
